Van Gundy, with other members of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma, also planted tomatoes, and red, green, and yellow peppers at the sustainable site.

UM President Donna Shalala removes the tarp covering the new “U” statue on the green in front of the UC at the reveal ceremony.  The event was one of many on Friday scheduled as part of the Opening Ceremonies of UM’s annual Homecoming celebration.

Sebastian the Ibis throws up the “U” during the reveal ceremony of the U-statue on Friday. The new statue is located on the Foote Green near the Rock and the University Bookstore next to the main pathway connecting the UC to the academic buildings.
