UM always offers free vaccinations to students and faculty in the fall, before the peak of flu season, but with the 2012-2013 season shaping up to be the worst in many years, vaccination events are being held during the spring semester in an attempt to limit the epidemic’s spread on the Coral Gables campus.

Homecoming Executive Committee Chair Lara Lackstein paints the sail for the boat burning in the Smith-Tucker Involvement Center Friday morning. UM tradition has it that if the mast breaks before the burning boat sinks at the center of Lake Osceola on Homecoming night, the ‘Canes will win the Homecoming football game. As it turns out, the ‘Canes were defeated by FSU 33-20.

The visit was the president’s third in 2012, a year that also saw visits from other larger-than-life political figures such as Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Herman Cain and former President Bill Clinton.

Graduation Portraits
Graduating seniors! It’s that time of the year!
Starting Monday, October 8th and continuing through Thursday, October 26th we will be taking graduation portraits for the 2013 Ibis Yearbook in the lower lounge of the UC.
The 2013 staff strongly recommends that graduating seniors make appointments to have their portraits taken. To schedule your appointment, click on the ‘senior portraits’ link in the menu to the left.
